Bio

Filip started learning swing dances in 2013 at the Warsaw-based studio SWINGOUT.PL and quickly realized it was something he wanted to pursue seriously.

Filip Górski
Warsaw, Poland

Although he had almost no previous dance background, from the very beginning he trained intensively and took part in festivals and workshops both in Poland and abroad. In 2015, his attention was drawn to Collegiate Shag after seeing a performance by the Warsaw Shag Team. Soon after, he began learning the style and shortly joined the group, starting a partnership with Cherry Moreno. Together, they achieved several first-place finishes in Strictly Shag competitions, including 1st place in the Shag Division at Camp Hollywood. Filip has always been involved in music — he plays the guitar, trombone, and mandolin, and is also a co-founder of The Cajun Spices, a band performing New Orleans jazz. This musical background strongly influences his sense of rhythm and natural musicality in dance. As a teacher, Filip focuses on solid technique, strong fundamentals, and the exchange of energy between partners, while keeping his classes light and approachable — his lessons never lose their energy or great atmosphere.
